Collection: MARTINO GAMPER
Martino Gamper (born in Merano in 1971) lives and works in London. He began his career as an apprentice to a furniture manufacturer in Merano and subsequently studied sculpture with Michelangelo Pistoletto at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In 2000 he graduated from the Royal College of Art in London, where he was taught by Ron Arad. Working across the lines of art and design, Martino Gamper is involved in a variety of projects from exhibition design to interior design, one-off commissions, and serial product design for the avant-garde of the international furniture industry. Gamper has presented his work and designs internationally in numerous selected exhibitions including '100 Chairs in 100 days', Touring Show, RMIT, Melbourne, Australia; 'Transformers', MAXXI, Rome (2016); 'design is a state of mind', Serpentine Sackler Gallery, London (2014); 'In A State of Repair', Rinascente, Milan (2014). He received the Moroso Award for Contemporary Art in 2011 and the Brit Insurance Designs of the Year, Furniture Award in 2008 for the project '100 Chairs in 100 days'.
